Heather over at Loose Shoelaces and Sarah at Teaching Tweens have tagged me! I'm going to attempt to respond to both in one post. Wish me luck! Here's how it works.

1. You must post the rules.
2. Post 12 fun facts about yourself on the blog post.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and then create 12 new questions for the people you tagged.

12 Fun Facts About Me!

1. My husband and I are expecting a baby in May! It is a boy, and we are still deciding on a name. Any reader suggestions would be appreciated!
2. My husband and I met my first day of college. He was one of those people who help you move your stuff in on the first day. We have been together for 10 years and married for 5!
3. We have two hairless dogs that we adore. Stuart Little is half chinese crested half chihuahua, and Vito is half chinese crested half yorkie. They can be found either cuddling with each other or trying to attack each other. They also like to bark at dogs roughly 15 times their size.
4. Vito is named after Vito Corleone in the Godfather. His name was Fabio when we adopted him, so we wanted to keep that Italian vibe going.
5. I have eaten approximately 10 million cheese-its since I found out I was pregnant. My mother-in-law gave me a box of individually wrapped "scrabble" cheese-its for Christmas. I enjoy them for a snack every day at school!
6. While I have been craving cheese-its, my number 1 craving during pregnancy has been raw tuna. I literally want to eat a huge brick of raw tuna with wasabi and soy sauce. I think I'm going to have to enlist one of my family members to make this happen for me after the baby is born.
7. I currently live in Alabama, but I grew up in Georgia. My husband is a resident, and we will be moving to Nashville in 2013 for him to do a fellowship in pediatric radiology.
8. I love my coworkers. We plan together and share EVERYTHING.
9. I have one sister and two brothers. I am the oldest and my youngest brother is 15 years younger than me.
10. The last concert I went to was the Avett Brothers with my mom, sister, and some of my sister's friends. I was nauseous and felt like the oldest person there.
11. I hate fluorescent lights with a burning passion. Last year I bought these and they changed my life. They do make the classroom a good bit darker, but it is perfect with lamps around the room.
12. I am a Christian and I am excited about all the ways I see God working in my life!

Heather's questions:

1.  What has been the most memorable lesson you have taught?  Probably anything that is messy or that has gone wrong! :) I really like to read Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss and then make oobleck when we're talking about states of matter. Oobleck is also known as quicksand and it makes a ginormous mess. Super fun though.

2.  What's a scent that triggers a memory for you? Tommy Hilfiger cologne and Winterfresh gum still make me a little nauseous. They remind me of school dances.

3.  What's your favorite movie? Gone with the Wind

4.  What's do you usually bring for lunch to school? It varies. Sometimes I'm bringing salmon with brown rice and other healthy things. Some days I'm getting steak nuggets in the cafeteria. Just depends on the hormone levels that day I guess!

5.  Do you prefer student led conferences or traditional parent teacher conferences? We actually don't have scheduled conferences at our school, so we usually only conference with parents when there is an issue of some kind. I think it is always better to involve the kids if possible.

6.  Do you drink Starbucks? What's your usual order? Grande, one raw sugar, nonfat latte.

7.  What's your cell phone ring tone? The generic iphone ring. I have been humiliated too many times by songs being my ring tone.

8.  How often do you check your blogs that you follow? Probably a couple of times a week.

9.  What's your favorite recipe you like to bring to parties? Lately it has been buffalo chicken dip. Yum!

10.  What's a TV show that you loved growing up? My So-Called Life. I just watched it again on Netflix last summer.

11.  Target or Walmart? Target.

12.  How many students do you have in your class? I started out with 30, and now I have 25. I definitely prefer 25!
Sarah's questions:
  1.  What's your favorite book to read over and over? The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri.
  2. What time do you get up to go to school?
My alarm goes off at 5:45, but I usually drag myself    out of bed around 6:20.

  3. What's your favorite teaching gadget/supply you use daily? Post-its and my colored Uniball pens.

  4. What's your best teacher memory?
Anytime a parent tells me that I have made a positive difference in their child's life.
  5. What do you like on your Tombstone (or any kind of pizza)?
I like what my husband and I refer to as "fancy" pizza. I like things like chicken, feta, artichokes, and spinach.
  6. Where do you spend more time--blogging or pinning? :)
Lately, pinning.

  7. What do you like to do on the weekends?

Is it bad if I say summer? I also like fall.
 10. If you could invite anyone to your classroom to speak to your class, who would you invite?
It's super cliche, but I would have to say Oprah. Is there a more inspiring person out there?
 11.  Favorite website?
 12. Favorite time of day. Quiet time in the morning when I'm by myself and can get a lot of things done. That is if I get up early enough!
